“Love in a Shoebox” is a short film I’ve made about my 97 year old grandmother. She’s reading from the love letters that she received from my grandfather while he was away in Venezuela. A shoebox full of love and memories is all that remains of their marriage.
This is the second film I worked on with award-winning filmmaker Fiona Lloyd-Davies, who was the producer in this project. I was one of the camera & sound operators and was in many of the filmings assistant to the DOP. This film was made for REDRESS’ 20th Anniversay and displays the history and legal casework of the NGO, and include interviews with REDRESS founder Keith Carmichael, REDRESS staff and also some of the torture survivors that REDRESS has assisted during its 20-year existence.

Video that I made for The Salvation Army
‘Barbie you’re beautiful. You make me feel…’ insecure, fat, ugly, inadequate, and unfeminine and Barbie, representing the body cult in our society, drives many women to drastic measures to attain an impossible and unnatural beauty ideal. Our montage ‘Barbie’ questions the cultural message on beauty presented in the media sent to women through commercials and film.

The inside layer of the chocolate egg is white and the outside is brown like the colors of their skin and inside the egg is a surprise which stands for the special connection and love that exists between them.
This piece is meant as video art and specifically used as installation art.
